GAVANI

Bronze attic helmet and silver applied harness ornaments, discovered in a princely tomb; the Geto-Dacian period; cca 350-300 BC.

 

Permanent exhibition (at the ground floor of the building situated in 3, Piata Traian) opened on the 23rd August 2001, when Braila Museum was celebrating 120 years from its establishment.

Temporary itinerant exhibitions:

  • „Geto-Dacian Civilisation in Siret Basin” (1977; 1991-1992)
  • “The Thraco-Geto-Dacian Civilisation and its Continuity during the Coming into Being of the Romanian People” (1980)
  • „Boian Culture on the Territory of Romania” (1998-1999), „Gumelnita – An Unknown Civilisation” (2000-2003)
  • „Wallachia during the AD 2nd – 4th centuries” (2001 - 2002).
